There will be two shows\, 2 and 7 p.m. A show for all ages\, "A Victorian Nutcracker" retells the classic story of a young girl's Christmas Eve dream\, inspired by the gift of a mysterious nutcracker. In this production\, 2022 Sanford High School graduate Camille Alipalo returns to Sanford in her sixth season with Portland Ballet. A freshman now at the University of Southern Maine\, she is also under professional contract as a trainee with the Portland Ballet. Camille started dancing at age of 7 with Ballet Philippines. At age 10\, she was promoted to full scholar with their training program. After moving to the U.S. in 2017\, Camille began training with Portland Ballet. This year Alipalo is is cast as a party mom\, a snowflake\, a flower in the Waltz of the Flowers and a demi soloist. Portland Ballet's staging pulls characters from Portland's past\, set to Tchaikovsky's timeless score. Come and witness playful battle scenes between toy soldiers and the Mouse King's army\, travel through the land of sweets to be dazzled by dancing snowflakes\, and meet the Sugar Queen Fairy.
