The Outta the Box thrift store — an inexpensive place to shop for trendy, offbeat, and chic clothing and household wares — was created as a senior project in 2008 by students at The New School. The high school provides an incubator for environmental awareness and involvement among students. Combining our commitment to sustainability with the need to fundraise, led to the founding of the thrift store. Today, Outta the Box is the most critical element of funding for the school beyond tuition.
